JANUARY 2012 

The first week the necessary shopping and packing was done to provide the people of Khayai sub-district UGW supports with their requirements. Our list has been extended with three more disabled, which were notified to us by the local medical post.

On 12 January Pia and the sub-district doctor visited all the disabled and distributed the earlier bought items such as rice, dry food, fruit, diapers, nutrition powder, milk etc. People who were in need of a bit financial help in order to buy some medicines or to pay their utility bills were also helped out.

On 18 January we participated at the monthly reunion of the elderly at Wat Jom Ket organized by the local medical post. At this reunion all elderly (120) are checked for diabetes and their blood pressure is taken. As this was the first meeting of the year there was a kind of lottery in which UGW provided some items as price. We also bought oranges for the lunch.

On 19 January Pia and the sub-district doctor continued their visit of the sick and disabled. One disabled living in Bang Duea sub-district adjacent of Mooban 6 of Khayai was added to the list.
